In 2012, Beijing Yijietong Technology Co., Ltd. and other units conducted a survey on the domestic medical device talent market. The results show that while China's medical device industry has good development prospects, it is facing severe challenges in terms of talent demand. Moreover, there are certain misconceptions among companies regarding talent selection. Based on the survey results, professionals have compiled the "China Medical Device Talent Market Survey Report". This article summarizes some of the main contents of the report, hoping to provide a window for medical device companies, medical device industry practitioners, and others to understand China's medical device talent market.
The "China Medical Device Talent Market Survey" focuses on medical device companies and practitioners in the medical device industry in inland China, and conducts a questionnaire survey on talent status (including companies, salaries, training, internal promotion policies, employee stability, etc.). A total of 2000 questionnaires were sent out in this survey, and 1436 feedback questionnaires were ultimately collected. Among them, there were 154 enterprise questionnaires and 1282 candidate questionnaires.
The Most Attractive Job Attraction: Multinational Enterprises
This survey focuses on specialized fields in the medical device industry, including orthopedics, interventional (extracardiac and intracardiac), imaging (large equipment), dentistry, and laboratory testing. Candidates are asked to rate the companies they are most willing to join. The results showed that Johnson&Johnson, Medtronic, Varian, Kawashengbang, and Roche appeared in multiple fields, indicating that job seekers are more inclined to choose international and strong comprehensive multinational enterprises.
The primary factor in choosing a career: personal development prospects
The survey results show that the candidate values the competitiveness of the company in order of product, corporate culture, and development space. However, when choosing a company, they prioritize personal development prospects as the primary factor for career selection, and geographical location is also an important consideration for candidates when choosing a company.
High salary fields: Intervention and Imaging
The survey results show that the salary composition of various sub sectors in the medical device industry is basically the same. The salary structure for sales positions is generally "base salary+commission+subsidy+bonus"; The salary structure for technical support positions is "base salary+subsidy+bonus"; The salary structure for registered positions is "13 months salary+bonus (2-4 months salary)". Among them, the bonus for sales positions varies according to sales characteristics. For example, sales positions for consumable products have bonuses for completing quarterly tasks, which are generally fixed amounts (6-10 months' salary); Sales positions for equipment products will be rewarded based on a certain percentage (4%~8%) or completion of tasks. In the national average salary of various sub specialties in the domestic medical device industry, the basic salary in the intervention (extracardiac and intracardiac) and imaging (large equipment) fields is relatively high.
